Admission Requirements

Students entering the Durant Independent School District (regardless of grade level) must meet the following admission requirements at the beginning of the current school year:

  • Be at least four years old on or before September 1st of the current school year (not calendar year);
  • Submit a legal birth certificate or have one on file;
  • Be up-to-date on current vaccinations in accordance to the Oklahoma School Immunization Law.

Immunization Requirements

The Oklahoma School Immunization Law requires the following vaccination schedule:

  • 2 doses of Measles* (PK-12)
  • 1 dose of Rubella* (PK-12)
  • 1 dose of Mumps* (PK-12)
  • 3 doses of DTP (5-12)
  • 3 doses of Polio (5-12)
  • 5 doses of DTP** (PK-4)
  • 4 doses of Polio** (PK-4)
  • 3 doses of Hepatitis B (PK-2, 7-10)
  • 3 doses of Hepatitis A (PK-2, 7-9)
  • 1 dose of Varicella (Chicken Pox) (PK-2)

*All measles, mumps, and rubella doses must be administered on or after the child's first birthday.
**If the fourth dose of DTP and/or the third dose of Polio is administered on or after the child's fourth birthday, then the fifth dose of DTP and/or fourth dose of Polio is not required.
