Child nutrition is a vital part of learning

Healthy learners

Durant Independent School District recognizes that children's nutritional needs must be met to produce healthy learners. The District contracts it's food service with Sodexho, a leading provider of quality food service across the nation.

Flexible choices

The District strives to offer our students quality nutrition and a variety of choices to appease the individual tastes of our students. The following list is a summary of our food service programs:

Cafeteria services
Our cafeterias serve breakfast and lunch every school day with a fresh menu selection.
Breakfast in the classroom
For students and parents who are unable to get to school early enough to eat breakfast in the cafeteria, several of our elementary schools serve a light breakfast in the classroom to insure our students don't start the day on an empty stomach.
Web-based payments - Available Fall 2006
EZSchoolPay.com is a web service by Accu-Scan, our food service management software. It allows parents to pay for meals and other school fees online, using a debit or credit card. Meal credits will be posted directly into the student's account within 15 minutes of the transaction. Parents may also monitor their student's meal balance, which is updated every 10 minutes. Transactions are secure with 128-bit digital encryption (the same technology used in millions of ecommerce transactions every day). For frequently asked questions about EZSchoolPay, choose the following link EZSchoolPay FAQ. Follow the EZSchoolPay Account Setup instructions to setup your students online account today.

A la carte
At Durant Middle School and Durant High School, students have the option of choosing a la carte menu items as well as the standard cafeteria choices.

Breakfast and Lunch Menus

Child nutrition plays a very important role in student performance during the school day. The nutritional content of our meals meets the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA's) as set forth by USDA regulations. See monthly menus listed below:

Breakfast Menu

9th - 12th Grade
Lunch Menu

5th - 12th Grade

To view the menus, you will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer.

Federal free and reduced lunch program

Durant Independent School District encourages parents to apply for the Federal free and reduced lunch program. Eligibility depends not only on income but number in household, and many of our students qualify for either free meals or meals reduced over 75% in price!
