School Supply List for 2017-18 school year

 

2017-18 Back to School Information

Tuesday, August 15, Come & Go between 5:00-6:00 p.m. All Grades.
Times listed are “come and go” – you can drop off supplies and meet your child’s HOMEROOM teacher during this time. 5th and 6th grade, due to limited time, please do not visit all of our child’s teachers, only their homeroom teacher. You are welcome to walk around and find your other classrooms based on your schedule.

We will also have ONE orientation for NEW STUDENTS TO DIS ONLY on Monday, August 14 at 6 p.m. in the 4th grade gym.  This includes 4th graders new to the building as well as 5th and 6th graders new to the Durant School District.

Schedules for 5th/6th grades may be picked up August 11 & 14.
4th Grade homerooms will be posted Friday, August 11 at 3 p.m.Classes Begin Thursday, August 17.

Drop-off & Pick-up

School begins at 7:50 and breakfast is served from 7:15-7:45 in the main cafeteria and 7:15-7:45 in the 4th grade cafeteria. Students may be dropped-off at the 4th grade parking lot by the greenhouse or through the two lane drop-off on the south side of the building. Fifth and Sixth graders should go straight to the big gym for Rise and Shine unless they need to eat breakfast first. Fourth graders should go into the 4th grade gym as it is the breakfast and holding area.

After school pick-up areas are designated as follows: Fourth grade is picked up in the circle loop (enter from Washington Street) only. Fifth and sixth grade students are picked up on the south side of the building (enter from Washington Street by front entrance). If a family has siblings, the older child should go to the younger child's pick-up area. Buses leave from the playground area on Grand Avenue. No students should be picked up in this area. To arrange bus transportation, please visit the transportation department page or call 580-924-7015.

DIS collects box tops to earn cash for our school! Print this form for your child to use and turn in for a treat!

Goddard Youth Camp is an annual week-long field trip for 6th graders. Students participate in various science, social studies, and physical education activities over the week. Previous attendees boast that it was one of the best weeks of their school life! If your student is interested in attending this field trip, you should begin planning early! There is limited space available so you may start adding money to your child’s account as early as 4th grade. The cost to attend is $250. If for some reason your child is unable to attend after you pay, your money will be refunded. The Camp Goddard List will help you prepare for packing.
