Education more than the mind

Life Principle Themes

Character education helps students develop character, which includes knowing, caring about, and acting upon core ethical values such as caring, honesty, fairness, responsibility, and respect for self and others.

The following is a list of life principle themes fostered in character education:

Second and third graders participated in the Happy, Healthy and Drug-Free Art Contest.

Fix the Fort became the service giving project for Northwest Heights’ first graders.  Mr. Larry Marcy accepted a $225.00 check from first graders at the weekly Rise and Shine ceremony.  Monies collected will be used to help rebuild the south barracks destroyed by a fire in September.  Individual interested in making a donation to Fix the Fort, may make a contribution at any branch of the First United Bank.

Students created artwork that depicted a drug-free place or activity where they felt happy and healthy.

Second and third graders at NWH raised $2493.47 during the March of Dimes Change for Babies fundraiser in September.  Pictured with some of the donations are Masyn, Dylan, Vivian, Drake, Noah, Camryn, Jakob, Jilliann, Heaven, and Colton.
