Life Principle Themes

Character education helps students develop character, which includes knowing, caring about, and acting upon core ethical values such as caring, honesty, fairness, responsibility, and respect for self and others.

The following is a list of life principle themes fostered in character education:

Second and third graders participated in the Happy, Healthy and Drug-Free Art Contest.

Our school “Rocks To A Drug-Free Beat.” Students participated in a Rock-n-Roll themed Red Ribbon Week. School counselor, Lisa Jestis, provided activities that focused on making healthy life choices. All students making good choices were eligible for a drawing and pictured are the guitar winners:  Michael L, Paige B, Francisco A, Jennifer, Balee, Ryan W, Katy , Trinity B, (second) Brylan W, Sam J, Kobe C, Elianna B, Taylor D, and Harlee H.

Students created artwork that depicted a drug-free place or activity where they felt happy and healthy.

Second and third graders at NWH raised $2493.47 during the March of Dimes Change for Babies fundraiser in September.  Pictured with some of the donations are Masyn, Dylan, Vivian, Drake, Noah, Camryn, Jakob, Jilliann, Heaven, and Colton.
