Teaching to succeed

Pre-Kindergarten curriculum

Pre-Kindergarten is an all-day voluntary program for four year olds to prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond. Students get acclimated to the school environment while learning important learning, awareness, motor, and pre-reading skills.

The classes concentrate heavily upon the appropriate development of physical, mental, and social skill levels. Through the use of music, rhymes, and other activities, a strong base foundation in Phonemic Awareness is built. Phonemic awareness is the conscious recognition that words are made up of sounds. Through the use of such vital classes as the Early Age Kindergarten, NWH is pushing its way to becoming a leader in child development!

Kindergarten

For many children, Kindergarten is their first experience in a school setting. The importance of the Kindergarten year is one which cannot be measured with statistics or testing. Instead, it must be looked at with a caring eye, an understanding smile, and a loving heart. This is our goal at Northwest Heights, to build a foundation for excellence which will long outlast the Kindergarten experience and will stay each child throughout their lives.
