Northwest Heights Elementary School's mission is to assure quality education, promote positive self-worth, and prepare all students to be responsible, competent citizens in an ever changing world.
Academic Success Celebrated at NWH
Congratulations to the our 2008-2009 third grade students and teachers who set a record score for our school by achieving a 1500 API score out of a possible 1500. The API (Academic Performance Index) score is based on the 2009 spring Criterion Reference Test results in reading and math along with the schools’ attendance rate.
The high-performing students, now students at another Durant campus, were brought to the Northwest Heights Elementary campus for a surprise celebration and award ceremony hosted by the elementary staff. Superintendent Dr. Jason Simeroth and Assistant Superintendent Larry Scott attended to help congratulate the students and our school for this success.
