Publishing the Lions Roar
The Lion's Roar: special segment within the Durant Daily Democrat
In Journalism, students write articles every week to be published in the Lions Roar featured in the Durant Daily Democrat.
Students learn what goes into making the paper: articles, deadlines, layout, etc. Students can serve as reporters or editors of the publication while improving their writing skills. Another portion of the class involves creating writing which allows students to improve all types of writing, such as prose, poetry and non-fiction, as well as enter creative writing contests.
