Meet Tod Harrison
Greetings from Mr. Harrison
It is always amazing to me how quickly our school year passes. Durant Intermediate School continues to strive to provide quality educational opportunities to our students. Our enrollment is at an all time high. We are serving 700+ students. Our dedicated teachers and staff, fantastic students, involved parents, and wonderful community continue to make DIS a great place to learn!
Concentrated efforts are being made to identify individual student needs. When these needs are identified our teachers work with groups of students that have the same specific need or weakness in their learning. We have established our Flex-Scheduling on Tuesdays which carves out time during the day to address these needs. We are still learning from our efforts and making improvements in how we implement this but have already seen positive results. Our goal is to meet the individual learning needs of every student.
Each morning I enjoy the opportunity of greeting students as they enter DIS. Our students enthusiastically enter the building ready to learn. Parents deliver their children and release them into our care. It is an honor to be entrusted with a parent’s most prized possession.
It is great to work in a community that supports education. Durant Public Schools thrive as a result of this support. This creates a collaborative atmosphere that results in a quality education for our students.
