Meet Jim Corley
A special welcome from Mr. Corley
I am proud to be the principal at Durant Middle School. A strong staff of teachers and support personnel work each day to enable students to be successful at school. We strive to provide our students with an education that is interesting, thought provoking, fun, and applicable to the changing world we live in.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of every opportunity they have to learn. The terms responsibility, climate of mutual respect, and high expectations are an integral part of the daily routines students experience at Durant Middle School.
I believe that it takes more than just a school building, teachers, and students to educate a child. Partnerships and communication must be established between parents, students, teachers, community members, and administrators. This in addition to a shared common vision and high expectations will lead to continued student success. We are constantly seeking methods to improve student performance. Students are informed from day one of the teacher's high expectations. Every effort taken and decision made at Durant Middle School are made based on what is best for children. I want to encourage parents to provide any input you might have concerning school related items. We are all in this together. Let's make every effort to insure success for every student.
