Mission

DISD Strives to help ensure that children are mentally and physically ready to learn and have healthy and supportive families, and to promote a safe community by equipping individuals with skills, knowledge, standards and resources to live healthy lives.

Program Implementation

Our district serves students and families through various programs, focusing on:

  • Alcohol, Drugs, and Violence Prevention and Early Intervention
  • Student Assistance Program
  • School and Community Mental Health Treatment/Intervention Services
  • Early Childhood Psychosocial and Emotional Development Services
  • Character Education
  • Provision for School Resource Officers
  • Truancy Prevention Services
  • Bullying Education and Prevention
