Welcome to Robert E. Lee Early Childhood Center located at South 9th and W. Louisiana Streets in Durant, Oklahoma. Robert E. Lee Early Childhood Center and its staff members serve all Pre-K students in the Durant School District. We have high expectations of our students and work vigorously to provide our students with the highest quality of education. It is our belief that all children can learn, and as effective educators, it is our responsibility to ensure that our students are provided with a variety of learning experiences that will assist them in becoming productive and successful individuals. We strongly encourage parental involvement and realize that with the help of supportive parents, we can work as a team to better our students’ education.
We are so excited to begin another year at Robert E. Lee Early Childhood Center. Class rosters will be posted on the doors prior to the first day of classes, and teachers will be contacting the parents of our students in order to schedule a time for them to bring their child to Robert E. Lee for individual screenings. When students come to their scheduled screening, please allow them to bring their school supplies with them. These screenings will be conducted on August 20 & 21 and will allow teachers to have individual, quality time with each student. We believe this will help our students make a better transition and have a more successful school experience. Our first day of classes will be on August. 24.
School will be in session from 7:50-2:30 each day. All students will enter the school on Louisiana Street. The first set of double doors closest to 9th Street will be used by our Big Five students. This will assist our teachers in obtaining parent signatures for Big Five. All other students will enter will enter the building thru the next set of double doors. The afternoon dismissal time will be at 2:30pm. Concerning student pick-up at 2:30, we have a red zone, a blue zone, and a green zone. Prior to the first day of school, teachers will inform you of the zone your child will be picked up from in the afternoons
